you guys are kidding right?
Why would they be kidding? I would guess that most NLE users rely heavily on the viewer and setting in/out points.
And like Keith said, I'm sure the viewer will be there in some form.

I just went to Best Buy too. All they would say is that they will hold me a iphone when available and that no one is guaranteed an iphone on launch day but that they should get enough to meet the preorders.
I asked if this included the white iphone, considering that Apple and At&t are not offering it, and I was told by the clerk who was helping me that he checked all the Best Buy employee news and email and that he has been told the white iphone will be available at launch.
So I ordered 2 white 32GB phones. Crossing fingers....
I did the same and went to BB before they opened. I was #1 and had no issues. I even questioned the offer for the white phone. I told them that I wanted the black 32gb. I gave them 50 for a GC and they put my name on a list for a 9am pick up time at BB the morning of the launch. They did a great job of organizing the whole thing!

What an insanely simple idea for such a cool effect!
I'd love to see more UI tricks using this sort of 3D. Could be some cool effects to see windows actually float some over background items.
Obviously, as others have pointed out... the game potential would be amazing. I guess this is similar to what they use on the Nitendo 3Ds?

Then you've not been reading the latest benchmarks. The top of the line will outperform my 2009 quad MacPro.
However, I'll agree that of the years you listed, the age of your current iMac is likely directly related to the chances you will upgrade.
I will upgrade if the bottom line of the new generation will outperform the iMac of the top line of the series I have (mid 2010).

I have many reasons why I don't like them and their religion. First and foremost is because of the fact that Israel and its "nazi-like zionist army" have committed crimes against humanity.. Killing innocent Palestinian men, women, and children just for being Palestinian. Israel is doing exactly what the nations of Eastern Europe did to the Jewish populations there in WWII.
2ndly, there is a strong parallel between Zionism and Nazism and also racism. If anything Zionism is the root cause for why this race is hated in the world. Their religion also teaches to not associate with Gentiles and others.. In case you don't believe me, look up the BABYLONIAN TALMUD and how racist and perverted it is.
Israel cares about no one, and the foolish idiots here in this "dying" country called America(dying b/c of economy and debt) are still supporting them.. I say, if you support the killing, apartheid machine then you are supporting the destruction of a race of people, namely the Palestinians.
For those ignorant of or not really learning about the true nature of the government of Israel let me refresh your mind a bit.. If those monsters had their way without Obama, they would finish the job.. Obama and the world had urged and forced Israel to stop building settlements, but yet they still do.
Remember, its simple mathematics. The Jews number today 13 million and this number is drastically reducing because of the large intermarriage rate and Jews who try to assimilate to be like everyone else. Judaism as a religion is dying as we can see.. I am happy there are Jews out there who are seeing the light that Judaism and Zionism are failures and that Israel has FAILED to help anyone or anything..
I could go on and on, but I think I will stop here.. but I leave this on one note: So long as Israel exists, there will be future problems in the future for the US and the world.. I pray one day that Palestine becomes a reality and finally the freedom of the Palestinians is realized.
Agreed.
But why is your name Joshua if you hate the Jews?

Are people as outraged by this leak as I am? I can't believe it. He just stole Steve's thunder at a later secret event. This will end up costing Apple the element of surprise and the impact of a special Steve announcement. We've got to punish Lion's Gate somehow. We need to boycott all of their films and show that they cannot mess with Apple. The mothership is under attack! Who's with me?
Whoa there buddy. First off, if he is under NDA then he wouldn't have said it. But if he said it while under NDA then Apple will get him and doesn't need a bunch of people flipping out on behalf of Steve. I'm sure he thinks it's cute but he can do without it. Secondly, if he knows about this and is not under NDA, then it's Apple's fault.

If it does end up being streamed "live" can you imagine the struggle everyone will have attempting to log on and watch. The drop outs on a non-live Apple event after they're posted is bad enough!
Can you imagine the server farm they are bringing online to handle movie downloads right now? Racks and racks of Xservers. Maybe bringing Google's CEO on board is to get access to Google's new network. Perhaps Apple thinks they can now handel streaming an event of this magnitude live without the bottlenecks.

I'm hardly an Apple-hater
That, combined with Apple apparently no longer giving a crap about the Mac (classic Pirates of Silicon Vally manoeuvre - putting the iOS team up against the Mac team) have screwed everyone over.
Remember, Apple is supposed to be a company that makes computers (as in desktop/laptop). However it now seems they are a Mobile Devices company, with a side-project (the Mac). This is Steve's doing.
Mac.
I think, when you look at your stance on mac, you are very right. Apple has indeed lost a bit of focus on the macs, to my opinion. especially when you look at adopting innovations there, they're lagging behind.

Wow, I have been scouring the net for a downloadable file of the WWDC2006 keynote and finally the holy grail for keynote addicts has been provided. Thanks Expowiki.org
Drop them some cash so we can count on them to provide the next keynote for all of us. I did!
Ahh, we didn't know who it was from! Thanks a lot, much appreciated! Hope you enjoy the site. :)

New York – A lawless atmosphere often follows natural disasters. How has Japan managed to maintain order in the aftermath of last week's earthquake and tsunami?
The chaos and theft that have followed many earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis have been noticeably absent in the wake of Japan's 8.9-magnitude quake. Instead, people have formed long, orderly lines outside grocery stores, where employees try to fairly distribute limited supplies of food and water. "Looting simply does not take place in Japan," says Gregory Pflugfelder, an expert in Japanese culture at Columbia University, as quoted by CNN. "I'm not even sure if there's a word for it that is as clear in its implications as when we hear 'looting.'" How has Japan managed to avoid this common after-effect of disaster? (Watch an Al Jazeera report about the wreckage)
Discipline, discipline, discipline: "The Japanese are now reaping the fruits of having been taught, and drilled in, discipline and resilience since childhood," says Federico D. Pasqual Jr. at The Philippine Star. In grade school, lunch is free, but often "spartan," and kids learn to expect and deal with lean times. This unfathomable calamity is one of those times, and "the instilling of that value or attitude seems to be paying off."
"Japanese discipline rules despite disaster"
The Japanese are no strangers to hardship: The easy answer is that the "legendary politeness" of the Japanese people is simply shining through, says Thomas Lifson at The American Thinker, but that's only part of what's happening. Japanese society has been honed over generations into a system "capable of ensuring order and good behavior." The country's "vast reservoir of social strength" carried it out of "the devastation of World War II," and, compared to that, "even the massive problems currently afflicting it" are "relatively small."
"Why the Japanese aren't looting"
Japan isn't superior, just different: Japanese people are "taught that conformity and consensus are virtues," says James Picht at The Washington Times. To Americans, who prize individualism, "those virtues sound almost offensive." In normal times, "concerns about appearance and obligation" may be stifling, but in adversity they may be what trumps "the urge to smash and grab." Japanese culture isn't "superior," it's just "well suited to maintaining public order immediately after a major disaster."yahoo news (http://news.yahoo.com/s/theweek/213154;_ylt=Aier3ZBx0et3Y1K_YS0GBTFvaA8F;_ylu=X3oDMTE3N240aWVoBHBvcwM4BHNlYwN5bl90b21ic3RvbmUEc2xrA2 Z1bGxuYnNwc3Rvcg--)

Any word on how the MacBook Air run its?
I'm not imaging maxed out settings, but the GPU in here is on the stronger side(compared to what Intel offers), so I'm hoping.
Might just grab it for the X360 instead

I'm sure they're real, who would take the time to make screenshots of such mundane features? These are all great additions mind you, but nothing there that is really going to sell the OS (of course I'm already sold on it, so who knows?)
