Home network worked 'out of the box'
Seems I now have the 'back to my EyeTV' setup correctly too with a bit of port-forwarding on my router. Will test fully tomorrow.
Combined with Sleepover this is awesome. I can wake over LAN/Internet and then use EyeTV App to do as I will. Brilliant:D

Well it's a little (dis)comforting to know that xenophobes and racists can be found anywhere...
You realize he is talking about illegal immigrants...not immigrants don't you?
I didn't see any mention of race either.

So apparently Mr. Beeks has a new person on his list to avoid at the Christmas party. It'll be interesting to see Apple's response to this, if there is one.

Actually, it will be better than Garmin.
What they do, is they hire local people to watch you via the position tracking. Then, they can give you directions based on your exact location.
Imagine, "Slow down for upcoming pot hole on left."

My school is filled with eMac G4s. Fastest one you can find in my school is 1.25 ghz. Not only are those machines slow, have no ram, they are also running under a SLOW server. So you can see why nobody likes Mac at my school.
That is the same deal at my school! It's a shame our schools are "mac ghetto". :p

i was waiting for a os x gpu client before i did it. seems much more efficient than cpu folding
A good folding farm running a bunch if bigadv units and with their bonuses could bring in more than GPU clients. My 950 @ 4ghz brings in 27k+ PPD with the bonus.

I agree, 100% i know didn't have the problem.
Paranoia, forums doing this crazy things. Some models sure have this problem and must be fixed in an Apple Store but not all and especially ith problem happens only in some conditions.

Last time I checked, the display is not included in the Mac Pro
Just because you can buy a PC system which includes the monitor, don't think you getting the monitor for free. You can bet its price is added in total cost of the system. Often that monitor is cheaply made to lower the price of the complete package.

Hmm... How's it happening? My radio is off again. Are we as toothless as the score suggests?
More like Langer and Hayden getting their act together.
Of course, there does seem to be a case of 'lets not lose this one' on Vaughn's part.
112/0, stopped for bad light.

I'm under the spell of this little 11" siren as well.
She's just so cute, I want to cry.
Then I want to burn things.
At 16:9, she's a bit short, but her hyper-waif body seems to redeem almost anything.
All she needs is a brain transplant, and I believe Igor has dug one up that will do nicely; He's just taking forever!
After that, if she can pass my quiz, I'm taking her back to my dungeon to do terrible, terrible, wonderful things to her.

I think this is the main concern of Apple delaying the launch of this new iPod Video. They need to have figured out a way for the battery life to last at least 4 to 6 hours...:(

English is not your first language, is it?
Which part of the sentence "SK Telecom and KT will be amongst the first carriers to offer the new iPhone" suggests that those two carriers will be the only first two carriers offering the new iPhone 5?
Watch your tone and don't be an *******.
The RESPONSES TO the article suggested that people assumed the Korea would be the first country to get it, which of course makes zero sense.
Also, I don't recall other countries launching a major Apple product simultaneously with the US, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile, according to IDC, Apple's U.S. marketshare was 4.8% in the second quarter, up from 4.4% a year ago, while its worldwide marketshare remains at 2.5%.
Everything seems lined up to finally make significant progress (read double market share, from 4%-8%) in the next five years, but I believe Apple still needs to address the general public's price objection issue. Vista will push a huge number of PC users to the Mac platform, but it's not going to happen overnight.
I also think Mac users get the Mac value proposition, but I still have a lot of acquaintances that would rather pay less for a PC because they've never given Apple the chance to prove exactly why there's a premium to own an entry-level Mac.
Apple has done a lot to quell this argument, with high end Macs spec'ing out dollar-for-dollar either equal to or lower than the competition, but Apple still doesn't have a highly desirable and successful Switch machine (or campaign). For whatever reason(s) the Mac mini isn't that machine.

In Stockholm and Frankfurt, I hardly see any iPhones. Also, I hardly see any iPads. I do however see a ton of MacBookPros but almost no MacBookAirs.
I find both places very style-centric (Stockholm especially), but also somewhat frugal. I don't think that iPhone will reach as large of a market share in Europe due to the high upfront cost of an iPhone (659€/799€ for 16GB/32GB).
Actually, it's running joke that you can identify an American by iPhone/iPad (aside from the loud inane conversation).

Not even sure how much benefit the second core confers in an application like office anyway. What it means is that the top of the range mac now available runs the application as well as the same place/priced machine from 1 year ago, make of that what you will.
Here's my reckoning.
It's running an application that was never built to run on X86 processors at comparable speeds to the processors on which the program was built to run.
That's damned impressive if you ask me. Even before when it was slow it was still amazing to me, especially after the deathly slow experience that was Virtual PC on the Mac. Sure, it was emulating an entire OS but the decrease in speed was massive - a 2GHz G5 became a 733MHz PIII under Virtual PC...

And as I said in my previous post, there is a world of difference between "encouraging" somebody to do something and "outlawing" somebody from doing something.
Sorry that subtle difference is lost on you. Maybe a definition might help ...

This is a huge nothing issue and the press is making a big deal about it because they are all libs and they hate corporations. They will do anything to make them look evil and out to get everyone. They also like to down success in any way possible.
I have 2 iPhones, 2 iPods, 1 iPad and 2 MacBook Pros they can track until their hearts content if they want. I'd also like to track them myself so I'll keep those services turned on!
I'd like to note that i know that Apple does not gather the tracking information. I am just saying if they wanted to they can, I don't care.
Wow, this is so incredibly ignorant I can't even believe it. They can track me wherever I go, I don't care, they can grab my genitals at airports, I don't care, they can take all my money for bailouts of private banks, I don't care, they can abandon democracy, so what? I have a white iPhone, I'm the coolest!
Face it, corporations do evil/ unethical things all the time, denying this is nothing but ignorance.
But Steve says it's fine, he always speaks the truth since he's a rich billionaire ceo.

... but after seeing these video presentations, serve me a plate of crow and I can't wait until June. This is very, very impressive. Still lots of questions, ie Color, Motion, hell lets throw in Shake while we are at it. I'm assuming there will be other apps in the family to show up but this is quite impressive to say in the least.
"After the presentation, I spoke with Richard Townhill, Director of Pro Video Product Marketing for Apple (who served as the host for Apples presentation) who told me that the purpose of today is to focus exclusively on Final Cut Pro, highlight some of the new features, and give people a chance to see and comment on the new interface. We will have much more to say about both Final Cut and our other applications in the future."

Agreed.
How can they sell a "cheap" iMac and a very expensive MP if they want large margins on their products? Shouldn't the iMac be at least 500$ more if that were the case?
And as for the "workstation" reality. I'm sure there are MP buyers that actually need Xeons over hex i7 chips. But how many. Really. Compared to the number of Mac users that want an iMac that has expansion slots.
Also, has anyone looked to the latest financials to see how many MPs have actually been sold? And how much money they gained by keeping that MP tax?
Loa
They can sell a cheap iMac because their costs are lower and crucially, that market is far larger, so they can "Make it up in volume." I would imagine that their financial analysis did not lead to a similar conclusion vis-a-vis the Mac Pro.
As to "workstation," It's Xeons because Xeons are the only way to get dual-CPU machines on the intel platform. really doesn't like overly complex product lines, so they don't want to split the Mac Pro off into a Xeon and non-Xeon configuration, having already split it off into dual and single processor lines. I imagine similar reasoning is keeping them from making the "X Mac", which is what you really seem to want.
Finally, does not release sales figures for different portions of their market - just "Portables," and "Desktops," so only they can answer that question, and they have not seen fit to do so.
